Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee APSU scholarship application system, NextGen Scholarship Manager, including user management and security setup.
- Manage and update information for scholarships, ensuring accurate funding allocation and monitoring expenditure.
- Allocate scholarship funds to departments, informing them of their spending allocation for the academic year.
- Maintain the APSU scholarship section of the website, posting academic, open, and departmental scholarships.
- Monitor retention requirements for academic scholarship recipients and provide support as needed.
- Counsel students and parents on financial aid options, demonstrating clear understanding of federal guidelines and aid types.
- Communicate effectively and appropriately with various populations, maintaining confidentiality as necessary.
- Make decisions, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrate excellent analytical skills and problem-solving ability in managing scholarship-related issues.
- Provide quality service to ensure student satisfaction by processing files quickly and accurately.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a technical environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with various groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and scholarship management software.
- Knowledge of federal financial aid regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and make decisions independently.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Perform sedentary work, primarily involving sitting with occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of light objects.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a financial aid or scholarships office.
- A background check will be required for the selected applicant.
