WATER TREATMENT OPERATOR

CITY OF MATTOON

The City of Mattoon is accepting applications for a Water Treatment Plant Operator. The open shift is Swing Shift which is Wednesday (11pm to 7am Thursday), Thursday (11pm to 7am Friday), Saturday and Sunday (7am to 3pm), and Monday (3pm to 11pm), including holidays. Shift selection is decided by seniority. Must be willing to work overtime.

Entry level candidates should have some education in, or experience in, chemistry, microbiology, or industrial equipment. Candidate must be able to complete the requirements for a Class D Water Treatment Operators License in the first 18 months of employment. Starting pay for entry level operators is $16.24/hr plus benefits.

Applications are also being accepted from experienced Water Plant Operators. Starting pay for licensed water operators varies from $22.48/hr to $29.66/hr plus benefits.
