Programming and Marketing Coordinator Fellow at the Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Davidson College

The Programming and Marketing Coordinator Fellow at the Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Davidson College will be responsible for supporting our Educational, Mentorship, and Consulting Programs as well as all marketing efforts.

Duration: July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025

Responsibilities:

General Administrative Support:
  • Efficiently manage incoming emails related to programming and marketing and direct inquiries to the appropriate team members,
  • Schedule meetings, and maintain an organized calendar for program activities, events and campaigns.
  • Prepare and manage documentation such as meeting minutes, reports, and program policies.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for program materials in our shared Google Drive and profiles and other relevant information in our CRM / marketing automation system.
Program Organization & Operational Support:
  • Assist in organizing and executing various events such as networking gatherings, educational workshops, pitch competitions, Gig-Hub 101s, and mentorship programs. This includes coordinating logistics, booking venues, managing event registrations, and overseeing event setup and cleanup.
  • Provide support to the Marketing Manager by promoting events and programs through email newsletters, social media, and the website. Engage with our community online to increase participation and interest.
  • Coordinate with external partners and vendors for event logistics, ensuring smooth execution of all planned activities. This role may require flexibility for evening or weekend events.
  • Facilitate connections between mentors and students by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and maintaining an updated mentor database.
  • Gather feedback through surveys and interviews to assess the impact of programs and provide recommendations for improvement.
Marketing Support:
  • Assist in the planning and execution of marketing campaigns to enhance the visibility, awareness and engagement in the Hurt Hub's programs across digital, print, and social media platforms, and other on campus communications channels.
  • Create engaging content for marketing materials, including social media posts, blog articles, and newsletters under the direction of the Marketing Manager.
  • Conduct market research to understand the needs of our community better and to inform our marketing strategies.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of customer databases and mailing lists for targeted communications.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing initiatives through key performance indicators.
Requirements:
  • Applicants must be Davidson College seniors graduating in Spring 2024 or recent graduates within the past two years.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Experience in event planning, project management, or administrative support is highly valued.
  • A genuine passion for entrepreneurship, innovation, and fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
  • A growth mindset with a willingness to test, learn, iterate and see feedback as a gift.
