Job Summary

The Alumni Relations Coordinator manages and coordinates the FIU Alumni Association's engagement program including identifying, recruiting, and serving as the liaison with alumni volunteer leaders and engagement program and events.
  • Creates new and expanded opportunities for alumni involvement that will foster positive engagement between alumni and the university, resulting in alumni giving back their time, talent and treasure.
  • Develops and implements programming that encourages broader alumni engagement, new affinity groups, increase giving and reunion attendance. Collaborates with events team to support Panther Alumni Week, Roar Lounge, and Reunion Weekend.
  • Stays abreast of, and communicative about, best practices. Conducts benchmarking with peers and maintain a deep understanding of segmentation and impact reporting of targeted audiences. Provides frequent and consistent updates to Alumni Programs, Annual Giving Staff, and University Staff to ensure events calendar and other communications are up to date.
  • Develops a metrics program and track ROI on network programs and events, work closely with the data team to identify and track engaged alumni. Creates and tracks budget for alumni network program for the office. Works closely with Foundation finance team to manage expenses, sponsorships and scholarship fundraising carried out by the networks.
  • Assists with scalable alumni engagement efforts including Panther Legacy Program and Alumni Recognition Program.
  • Manages segmented text message campaigns and provide alumni with a high level customer service experience.
  • Assists the Director with department budget tracking and expense management.
  • Serves as the Procard Approver for departmental transactions. Assures compliance and adherence to University credit card policies and procedures.
  • Serve as a University card user for departmental transactions.
  • May oversee training and supervision of temporary and student staff.
  • Creates and implements procedures to manage alumni email inbox to ensure alumni are getting timely and knowledgeable answers to inquiries.
  • Assists with coordinating and scheduling meetings with students and alumni.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience in higher education, alumni relations, development, event management, or a related field.

Desired Qualifications

2-3 years experience with engagement and volunteer management in a non-profit organization, preferably higher education, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge in telemarketing, direct mail, online and personal solicitation, preferably in higher education.
