Job Description
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS) COORDINATOR, Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) (part-time, 50%), to monitor and ensure compliance with EHS laws and regulations and MIT’s EHS Management System.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in an engineering, science EHS, or related discipline; at least four years of relevant experience; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and the ability to learn specialized computer applications for EHS requirements; and excellent organizational, administrative, problem-solving, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills. Seek someone who demonstrates good judgment and adaptability and is goal-oriented and able to work independently or as part of a team in a highly research-oriented yet disciplined environment that requires frequent interaction with faculty, students, and research staff. PREFERRED: experience with semiconductor device fabrication, biology, and/or chemistry; lab experience in a professional setting; and proficiency with document and data management tools (e.g., Microsoft SharePoint sites, Wikis, and QuickBase).
