Job Description
The Missouri Protoplex is a reflection of the statewide ecosystem of manufacturing and technology it serves. The Protoplex is conceived as a place where industry and academia come together to research new materials and methods, prototype and test new manufacturing processes, develop workforce competencies, and solve multi-discipline problems required to bring integrated cyber-physical manufacturing systems into practical use.

Maintain industrial engineering equipment to support the research function and collaboration with industry partners to enhance the manufacturing landscape in the state of Missouri.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and support equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, drives, bearings, and sensors
  • Conduct calibration, alignment, and regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively
  • Maintain and update machine documentation, including maintenance logs, repair records, and equipment manuals
  • Stay updated with the latest CNC technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and upgrades
  • Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced manufacturing equipment and processes
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians in advanced manufacturing research and development projects
  • Conduct performance testing and validation of advanced manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks as needed for the CNC machines and related equipment
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate common shop equipment (Mill, lathe, Band saw) etc.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate digital advanced manufacturing machines
  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements and technologies in CNC and Additive Manufacturing technology
