Job Description
The Missouri Protoplex is a reflection of the statewide ecosystem of manufacturing and technology it serves. The Protoplex is conceived as a place where industry and academia come together to research new materials and methods, prototype and test new manufacturing processes, develop workforce competencies, and solve multi-discipline problems required to bring integrated cyber-physical manufacturing systems into practical use.
Maintain industrial engineering equipment to support the research function and collaboration with industry partners to enhance the manufacturing landscape in the state of Missouri.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNC machines and support equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues
- Repair or replace faulty components, such as motors, drives, bearings, and sensors
- Conduct calibration, alignment, and regular inspections to identify potential problems and address them proactively
- Maintain and update machine documentation, including maintenance logs, repair records, and equipment manuals
- Stay updated with the latest CNC technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements and upgrades
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced manufacturing equipment and processes
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians in advanced manufacturing research and development projects
- Conduct performance testing and validation of advanced manufacturing processes and equipment
- Perform electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance tasks as needed for the CNC machines and related equipment
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to operate common shop equipment (Mill, lathe, Band saw) etc.
- Ability to operate or learn to operate digital advanced manufacturing machines
- Willingness to stay updated with the latest advancements and technologies in CNC and Additive Manufacturing technology
