The Medical Imaging Technology department at Oregon Institute of Technology seeks applicants for a full-time, nine-month tenure-track faculty position at the assistant professor, associate professor, or professor rank in the Echocardiography program.

The Medical Imaging department at Oregon Institute of Technology, a public polytechnic university, teaches radiologic science, sonography, nuclear medicine, echocardiography, and vascular imaging to undergraduate students in these majors. Position Information:
This position is available at Oregon Tech's Klamath Falls campus, located in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains in southern Oregon. Klamath Falls is widely recognized for its remarkable mountain and lake scenery, including Crater Lake National Park and year-round outdoor recreation opportunities.

The primary focus of this position is on excellent teaching, and the successful candidate's instructional responsibilities include a variety of core requisite courses in Echocardiography and medical imaging education. Applicants must have superior communication skills, a strong commitment to supporting student success, and dedication to promoting medical professionalism in undergraduate instruction. Ideal candidates are effective mentors and innovative toward applying best practices in undergraduate courses. The position offers the opportunity for the candidate to teach specialized echo and vascular imaging courses related to the candidate's background.

The faculty member becomes a proactive academic adviser within our department; institutional service may include serving on university committees and participation in departmental initiatives. As a faculty member, they work productively with other faculty in the medical imaging group by supporting continuous program assessment and improvement. Faculty are expected to collaborate with others, pursue professional development, participate in applied research or scholarly opportunities, engage in the community with projects that provide value in the real world, and take part in departmental and university service.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in diagnostic Echocardiography
  • Master of Science degree or higher in field of recruitment or closely related field with ARDMS credentials as RDCS or CCI credentials as RCS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous teaching experience
  • ARDMS or CCI credentials in pediatric Echocardiography
