Chief Operations Officer
Photonis Defense, Inc., is a rapidly growing and energetic company specializing in two major business areas. The first is Vacuum Electron Devices which are used, on one side of the business, to enable high powered jamming devices, radars, communication systems, and linear accelerators. The other side of the business deals with image intensifier tubes, analog and digital night vision systems and technologies, which are supplied commercially and to Government customers.
We are in search of a COO to assist the CEO and to work hand-in-hand with the VP of Manufacturing Operations. The potential individual should have strong vacuum-tube manufacturing experience, be detail oriented, and have solid data analysis and operational skills with and a knack for approaching business from a creative point of view. The COO will work with our team of high-performing professionals to improve efficiencies, production, quality, and delivery goals while reducing costs and improving margins across our entire product lines. The ideal candidate has extensive experience within our industry, preferably having worked their way up to an executive role. We believe this trajectory helps a person develop a unique mix of business and management expertise, plus proficiency with the practices, policies, and procedures of our industry. Military experience is considered a plus.
Objectives of this role.
- Execute the CEO's vision and strategies.
- Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, key performance indicators, and annual operations budget planning.
- Work with the VP of Operations to assist in overseeing company operations and employee productivity, by building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive, and that organizational goals are met.
- Ensure corporate compliance with national and local business regulations and take appropriate action when necessary.
Responsibilities.
- Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement.
- Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with CEO.
- Implement a growth roadmap so that sufficient investment capital can be budgeted for near-term growth targets.
- Along with the CFO/Controller manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability.
- Monitor overall key performance indicators tracking software and work with the executive team to identify and execute corrective measures, when necessary, and prepare detailed updates and forecasts.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders especially within our parent company, the Photonis Group. Required skills and qualifications.
- Ten or more years of experience in executive leadership roles.
