The overall purpose of this job is to provide leadership and management of a comprehensive university-wide housing and residence life program.

Essential Functions
Provide direction and leadership for all aspects of the university's housing and residential life department, including approximately 2600 residents, over 200 university apartments and 10 residence halls. Select, train, supervise and provide professional development for full-time and part-time staff in the department. Direct staff in providing a robust and comprehensive programming model that includes residential education and community building. Develop and manage departmental budget(s) to align with the mission, vision and strategic plan of the department and university; work in tandem with the Budget Office and the Vice President for Student Affairs on financial oversight, management and reporting. Foster collaborative and meaningful partnerships across campus to provide a holistic experience for residential students. Develop a comprehensive communications plan for the department, including but not limited to day-to-day, emergency, and risk management; work with Admissions during the recruitment phase. Assess student satisfaction within housing and residence life and conduct annual personnel performance evaluations. Provide guidance and recommendations on occupancy rates to meet the desired revenue goals; forecast housing needs as students needs evolve. Ensure the housing application to assignments process is smooth and student friendly; incorporate appropriate software to enhance and streamline administrative processes. Responsible for oversight of software integration across the department. Address student conduct issues and concerns in conjunction with the Office of the Dean of Students; utilize Maxient for conduct records & incident reports. Review, revise and devise policies in accordance with Housing and Residence Life community standards. Set departmental goals in alignment with Tech Tomorrow Strategic Plan and the Division's strategic plan and execute accordingly. Expand opportunities for partnership involving residence hall eateries and food options. Provide direction and insight on facility improvement, capital planning, and housing and residence life maintenance and upkeep.
Actively participate in campus-wide committees as appropriate. Other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Affairs or designee.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree from an accredited institution in Student Personnel Services or related field. Budgetary experience, Facility maintenance and improvements experience, and supervision of a mid to large size staff is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctorate from an accredited institution in Higher Education, Business, Student Personnel Services or related field. Experience in facility maintenance and improvements, budget management, and full time administrative staff supervision. Eight to Ten years of progressively responsible experience in the field of Residential Life and Housing preferably on a university campus.
Work Hours
M-F 8am – 4:30pm
Occasional evening and weekend activities/emergencies possible
Compensation and Benefits
Salary
Commensurate with education and experience; Administrative Pay Grade AD50.
