Essential Functions
Teach studio courses each semester that may include all levels from beginning through advanced levels in the BFA design (digital media) curriculum, which currently focuses on Graphic Design/Communication Design application. This individual will instruct students in areas of graphic design, advanced graphic production, motion, typography, illustration, and portfolio in use with Adobe Creative Suite. Facilitate experiential student learning beyond the classroom, e.g. supervise senior design projects, internships, etc. Provide management and oversight of departmental design digital studios. Collaborate and contribute to curriculum development for the digital design concentration and participate in course and program assessment. Contribute to a rigorous learning environment with a willingness to use traditional, alternative, and digital delivery methods.
Minimum Qualifications
MFA or equivalent terminal degree in design or related field. At least 1-year teaching experience, either full or part-time. Track record of professional experience in digital artist, graphic arts, or related field as expressed in client history, publication record, exhibition practice, studio practice, or a combination thereof.
Mastering of appropriate industry-standard art and design software. Proficiency in teaching industry-standard art and design software.

Commensurate with education and experience. Temporary non-tenure track Instructor for one year to begin August 1, 2023.
