Job Summary
Provide oversight, coordination, and compliance reporting for the Second Chance Pell educational programs. Collaborate with academic schools, departments, and corrections partners to deliver highly functional correctional education programs.
Position is located at the Dick Conner Correctional Center.
This is a Safety Sensitive position pursuant to Oklahoma Statute OKLA. STAT. tit. 63, 427.8 (2020).
Essential Duties
Coordinate the daily management of the TCC Second Chance Pell (SCP) programs. This includes updating policy & procedures, maintaining a positive relationship with educational partners, and collaborating with TCC faculty and staff.
Collaborate regularly with Academic Deans and Faculty Department Chairs to schedule courses to meet the enrollment needs of students each semester. Coordinate with educational partner staff recruitment and commencement activities.
Ensure compliance with the Second Chance Pell program requirements including policies, procedures, and protocols; quality assurance/internal auditing; and monthly/annual reporting to the Director for Workforce Programming and to the Department of Education.
Create and maintain a program handbook for each Second Chance Pell program. Serve on various committees related to Second Chance Pell program education.
Supervise staff to ensure that enrollment, withdrawal, financial aid, academic advising, placement testing, filing for graduation, and other student service functions are being provided in a timely manner. Build and continue to strengthen relationships with educational partner staff and administrators. Meet monthly with administrative staff to identify program collaboration opportunities and concerns.
Identify and manage classroom supplies, equipment, and textbook needs, including ordering textbooks, and collaborating with the TCC bookstore to manage textbook inventories. Identify TCC resources to assist with providing students with education plans for community re-entry upon release.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in education, Criminal Justice, or related field.
3 years of coordinating experience.
Ability to perform duties on one's own initiative with minimal supervision.
Ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population and all college service areas.
Ability to travel to Dick Conner Correctional Center daily for work.
Demonstrated compliance and reporting experience.
Ability to collaborate with Campus and community partners.
Experience with Microsoft Office 365.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Education, Criminal Justice, or related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with equivalent work experience.
