Reporting to the Vice President for University Relations, the incumbent will serve as a key leader for University Relations, interfacing with colleagues from across the institution on matters of communication, brand management, revenue generation and stewardship. The successful candidate will assume responsibility for the Storytelling, Annual Giving, and Stewardship teams in the development department. They will drive innovation and utilize strategic approaches to achieve best in class results including raising unrestricted and giving society funds of $80+ million from 125,000+ Notre Dame alumni, parents and friends on an annual basis. They will demonstrate a commitment of excellence with University benefactors through donor engagement and events, impact reports, dedications, acknowledgments, and fund reporting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide strategic direct leadership over Sr. Directors leading the following departments: Storytelling, Annual Giving and Stewardship.
- Effectively and efficiently manage all human and budget resources for the aforementioned teams.
- Create a vision, set aggressive goals and lead a high performing team of approximately 50+ full time employees to successively greater results. Work as a partner with other Development Associate Vice Presidents to build trust, teamwork and best in class results.
- Manage the delivery of the Notre Dame brand to Notre Dame alumni, parents and friends; and transform this through innovation, process improvements, enhanced consistency of design, messaging and compliance with the University standards.
- Responsible for setting and achieving annual unrestricted giving and donor count targets.
- Build upon a best-in-class Stewardship and Donor Relations program, ensuring donors are appropriately recognized and University resources are properly utilized.

Minimum:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Marketing and Communications
- 10 plus years of management experience demonstrating a range of increasing responsibility throughout career.
- Proven leader comfortable setting a vision, creating goals, and executing with a track record of development of successful teams, innovation and working closely with the product development & operations team.
- Experience in leading brand management in consumer marketing; private label/brand experience a plus. Demonstrated ability to build and implement segmentation strategies.
- Passionate about exploration and use of emerging technologies.
- Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills. Faces problems head-on and takes an analytical approach to timely resolution.
- Deep commitment to Notre Dame's mission and core values (e.g. integrity, teamwork, accountability).
