The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of peptide design and synthesis (three to five years experience) with an excellent track record of published work in top peer-reviewed journals. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include leading the peptide design and peptide synthesis efforts of the lab under the supervision of Dr. De La Fuente. Specifically, the candidate will have experience with antimicrobial peptides and encrypted peptides identified in proteomes.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to to work in a cutting-edge laboratory alongside top professionals in the field of applied biotechnology in psychiatry.
