The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Pennsylvania seeks applications for a tenure-track position in Theoretical High Energy Physics - Particle Cosmology. The successful candidate is expected to develop an innovative research program that will engage with Penn's vibrant high energy theory and particle cosmology community, and enhance its longstanding track record in those areas. Applicants should have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment, a research record demonstrating independence and originality, and strong interest in teaching and mentoring students.

Qualifications include

● Demonstrated ability in research

● Capacity for teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and mentoring and supporting a diverse student body

● The ability to direct graduate/undergraduate research

● Candidates are expected to have a PhD by the time of appointment, which is July 1, 2024

● The successful candidate will be expected to:

o Attract external research funding

o Contribute actively to Penn's longstanding effort in high energy theory and particle cosmology
