The Department of Family Medicine and Population Health at Virginia Commonwealth University is currently recruiting for a full-time Board Certified Family Medicine Physician for our Hayes E. Willis Health Center located in Richmond, Virginia. Experience working with medically underserved communities, teaching, and expertise in areas of care such as opioid use disorder/substance use disorder, transgender care, and procedural care is preferred. Start date of provider estimated to be approximately three months from time of offer with a competitive salary and generous benefit package, as well as the ability to earn clinical bonuses. The Physician in this position will be involved in medical student and resident teaching, and will have the opportunity to be involved in Departmental research programs. Must be BC/BE in Family Medicine and be eligible for staff privileges at MCV Hospitals, although no inpatient work is required (strictly outpatient care.)
Mission or Goal of Unit:
Founded in 1970, the Department of Family Medicine and Population Health at VCU has a long and proud history of training medical students and resident physicians. Our Department houses all of our family medicine medical student education programs, including a highly rated clerkship and two longitudinal, four-year track programs. We also have four affiliated family medicine residency programs at various locations around the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Chief Purpose of this position:
This position expands patient access to primary care in a medically underserved community. This role also meets a critical teaching need in support of our Department's overall mission; serving as a clinical practice site for future residents.
Position Responsibilities:
- Teaching:Physician will provide teaching and mentorship to medical students, residents and fellows when applicable.
- Service: Physician will serve on hospital or departmental committees when appropriate.
- Clinical: 1.0 fulltime equivalent (FTE) effort, 100% clinical.
- Must be board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine.
- All candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in Virginia.
- Must be available to work full-time on-site at VCU Health Hayes E. Willis Health Center located at 4730 E Southside Plaza, Richmond, VA 23224.
- Demonstrated experience working in, collaborating and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and resident/student environment or a commitment to do so at VCU.
- Experience working with medically underserved communities.
- Teaching/expertise in areas of care such as opioid use disorder/substance use disorder, transgender care, and procedural care is preferred.
